Kirkby Design’s second collaboration with Transport for London (TfL), Underground Vol. II, is a collection of upholstery velvets inspired and gathered from the distinctive moquette fabrics used on London Underground’s seating designs.

Moquette, the patterned woollen material used across the London transport network, first came into use in 1930. Now, due to launch at London Design Festival’s 100% Design event this September, the new line of interior fabrics taps into the heritage of London and its bold design identity.

The collection itself, licensed with TSBA, TfL’s brand licensing partner, will be presented to the public for the first time on board a static Victoria Line Underground carriage from 1967, reimagined as an experimental venue.
