Hart Schaffner Marx has  brought back nearly 50 previously furloughed workers to produce non-medical protective face masks for essential workers in Chicago and the general public.

The factory is now producing thousands of masks each day with the goal of ramping up to 150,000 masks per week, depending on orders and demand. Orders are currently being fulfilled for Union Pacific Railroad Systems and the Cook County Sheriff’s Department, as well as local grocery stores and delivery companies.

Chicagoans looking to keep their funds local can purchase masks for themselves as well as masks that will be donated to local Chicago communities in need by purchasing through the W. Diamond (the factory owner) website.
